The name Prime Craftsman draws from the faith of co-founders Jake and Amanda Thompson and the depiction of Jesus as a tektón – the Greek term used in the Gospels, commonly translated as “carpenter,” but more fully meaning a skilled builder or craftsman – one who shapes materials with purpose and bears responsibility for the strength and usefulness of what is built.
In this context, “prime” points to the highest standard of that role – the one who defines craftsmanship through integrity, care, and lasting value. By carrying this name forward, Prime Craftsman Homes Wichita signals both its alignment with the example set in Skiatook and its intent to uphold that same model of meeting real community needs.
Our Oklahoma Roots
With two locations, Prime Craftsman Homes builds on a foundation first established in Skiatook, Oklahoma, where Prime Craftsman Homes was founded to address the growing affordable housing crisis in Oklahoma by building high-quality, factory-built homes.
While Prime Craftstman Wichita serves customers primarily in Kansas, we have committed to a deep partnership with the Skiatook-based company, recognizing in its work a standard of purpose and craftsmanship that is both inspiring and worthy of being modeled. Learn more about our history!
